Dear Baltimore Parade of Lighted Boats Participant:
Welcome to the 20th Annual Baltimore Parade of Lighted Boats. This event is
produced by the Fells Point Yacht Club, Inc. The Parade is scheduled for
Saturday, December 1, 2007.
The parade route will be through the Inner Harbor and Fells Point areas. We will
use two groups for forming up; the Inner Harbor Group, and the Fells Point
Group. The plan is for two complete passes around the parade route for all
boats.
The boats will be judged and prizes awarded. The prizes to be awarded will be
for Best in Parade, Best Theme of Christmas, Best Illuminated, Best Large Power
Boat, Best Small Power Boat, Best Large Sail Boat and Best Small Sail Boat.
The parade groups will begin forming up shortly after 5:00 p.m., as directed by
the Parade Marshall and the assisting Safety Boats. The parade will start at
6:00 p.m. (Foul weather date is Sunday, December 2,2007.)
Any vessel may enter the parade provided it is properly insured and the skipper
adheres to all the rules and regulations of the U.S.C.G., Maryland D.N.R., the
Marine Unit of the Baltimore City Police and the Baltimore Fire Department.
Participants must fill out the registration form and its reverse side, the theme
form. These forms should be received at the above address, with the entry fee of
$1.00 per foot, no later than Wednesday, November 28,2007. In addition to the
nominal registration fee, we ask that each captain and crew member or guest on
each vessel donate a toy to the Marine Corps Toys-for-Tots program. The Marine
Corps Representatives will be present at the post-parade party and awards
ceremony. Guests who do not bring a toy to the ceremony will be asked for a
$10.00 contribution to the Parade at the entrance to the party.
Attendance at the Skippers' Meeting is mandatory. The meeting will be held on
Wednesday, November 28, 2007, at 7:30 p.m. at the Hendersons Wharf Hotel, 1000
Fell St., in Fells Point.
